If you are here, you are probably wandering what this blog is about. I thought that it would be really quite interesting and hopefully insightful for others to chart the development of Costello Technology College's new learning platform. Why? - because I am getting asked questions by so many people about the processes we went through to get where we are, about the decisions we have taken and where we see things going in the near future. We're in the midst of a really exciting time here at the college, something that I hope to share with you. Yes, the technology will help develop innovation but there are lots of challenges along the way - that I hope to write a little bit about - including embedding a culture of technology, change management, motivating staff and a whole lot more.
I have always had a passion for technology - previously being a head of ICT and lead professional for ICT for a local authority I've always recognised the potential for technology to support teaching and learning. With the cultural and societal shifts that we are now seeing, it is really important to embrace technology to give all of our students the opportunities to help them secure success in whatever shape or form that might be. The next few posts will condense much of the goings on that we've seen at the college over the past 5 months and I will endeavour to chart the progress of our platform from initial conception and procurement to development, implementation and start blogging about where we are with it and where it is taking us next.
